She Spends often covers investing, whether that’s through ESGor ETFs. Our readers still wonder, though, how to get started. Should they invest with a robo-adviser like Betterment or pay an adviser to do it? Should they invest in a mutual fund, index funds, stocks or bonds? Do they care about active or passive investment? She Spends wants to help our readers come to those conclusions themselves.
She Spends, in collaboration with Betterment, will host a panel to help you invest. Marshay Clarke, CFP, from Betterment, Ally-Jane Grossan of the Moneysplained podcast, and PwC Digital Editor in Chief Jennifer Merritt will join She Spends founder Alicia McElhaney to answer all your questions and help you start investing.
The “How to Invest in Yourself” panel will take place on Thursday, Jan. 18 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Betterment’s office, located at 61 W. 23rd Street in New York, N.Y.
Although the event is free, we ask you to RSVP through our Eventbrite. It will help us figure out how much wine and food to have waiting for you.
We will also have gifts from Drunk Elephant, the Lauren Alyssa Group, GloPRO, the Rifle Paper Co., and KAIKE that will be raffled off at the event, so bring some cash if you’re interested in a chance to win. The proceeds from the event will go toward:
Podcasting equipment, as we would like to bring She Spends to your ears next
Covering our overhead costs, such as website maintenance
Paying contributing writers
