How a 37-year-old New York City-based leadership coach spends

  • SALARY: I make $100,000 working as a leadership training coach in New York. I have asked for and received, a raise in the past. 
  • SAVINGS: I have about $50,000 in my savings account right now. 
  • MONTHLY EXPENSES: My husband and I live in an apartment that costs $9,000 per month to rent. We split the bill. I contribute to an IRA every month. I also pay for health insurance, Netflix, Rent the Runway Unlimited, a cell phone, condo fees and office space each month. I’m a sustaining member to WNYC as well. 
  • INVESTING: I currently am investing through a financial adviser.
  • DEBT: I am not in debt.
  • SPENDING VICTORY: Our condo in New York City. It was so worth it. 
  • SPENDING REGRET: I spent money on online advertising for my business that I completely regret. 
  • CHARITY:  I give to WNYC every month. 
  • SIDE HUSTLE: I have a side hustle as a fashion designer. 
  • GOALS: I want to eventually own a beach house.
