How a 25-year-old Pennsylvania-based talent acquisition representative spends:

  • SALARY: I make $38,000 as a talent acquisition representative outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. I have not yet asked for a raise.
  • SAVINGS: I have about $3,000 in my savings account right now.
  • MONTHLY EXPENSES: I still live with my parents, and they still cover my health insurance. I do contribute to a 403(b) at work. I also pay for monthly subscriptions to Netflix, Ipsy and PlayStation Plus.
  • DEBT: I am in debt. I pay $800 a month for school loans. I also pay $400 in credit cards to pay off some school supplies (laptops, books, etc.) and a Disney trip. I am paying a lot of interest on the credit cards though.
  • SPENDING VICTORY: A trip to Disney World! I went for the first time last year. It was a treat for myself and so worth it.
  • SPENDING REGRET: I bought a Mary Kay kit as an impulse buy to support a friend. I do like the product, but I have no intention of making a living or business from it.
  • CHARITY: The last charity I contributed to was a relief fund for Puerto Rico.
  • SIDE HUSTLE: I work as a house manager at a local college’s performing arts center.
  • GOALS: I want to pay off my student loans and to buy a new car.
